HDMI OVER SINGLE CAT6 EXTENDER BALUN SET - MilesTek PART# 90-12017
HDMI over Single CAT6 device set extends your HDMI video and audio signal up to 196 ft. from the HDTV source. This is a perfect and reliable solution for situations where your HDMI compatible HDTV needs to be located in maybe a separate room or floor from where the HDMI source device is securely located. Running HDMI over just one run of commonly used solid-gauge CAT6 bulk cable results in even more material cost savings, while still providing greater signal distance and installation flexibility. Tested to perform with satellite HDTV receivers and other higher MHz AV devices. Maximum resolution/bandwidth of 165 MHz at 1080P.
Solid-gauge CAT5E cable may be used, but for optimal performance and distance CAT6 is suggested for this active device.
Tech Note: Standard pre-made patch cords (stranded conductors) shouldn’t be used for these products. Use solid conductor CAT5E/CAT6 bulk cable throughout installation run, correctly terminated with RJ45 connectors (T568B). Avoid breaking cabling up by going thru CAT5E/CAT6 wall plate jacks and panels.
AV over CAT5E/CAT6 extenders in general are designed and tested to work directly from the original Source device (laptop, BlueRay DVD, cable/satellite box, etc.) to the Display/HDTV. Although success can be experienced, signal performance, compatibility, and endurance over time can't be guaranteed when combined with AV receivers/signal processors, switches or splitters/amplifiers between the original Source and Display.
Having surge protection on both the source and display side (transmitter and receiver) is highly recommended.
