The DVI to DVI passive UTP extender allows signal distribution using ONLY ONE inexpensive Cat5/6 cable for up to 100ft @ 1024x768 XGA. DVI-D single-link connection.
Standard pre-made patch cords (stranded-gauge) can’t be used for this product. Must use solid-gauge CAT5E/CAT6 bulk cable throughout installation run, correctly terminated with RJ45 connectors.
Tech Note: AV over CAT5E/CAT6 extenders in general in the industry are designed and tested to work directly from the original Source device (laptop, BlueRay DVD, cable/satellite box, etc.) to the Display/HDTV. Signal performance, compatibility, and endurance over time can't be guaranteed when combined with AV receivers/signal processors, converters, switchers or splitters/amplifiers between the original Source and Display.
