VU Telepresence’s HD video conferencing systemsWe’ve mentioned a couple times just how excited we are about the VU TelePresence HD video conferencing systems. Historically, video conferencing has been an exercise plagued by poor quality and expensive equipment. VU TelePresence’s HD video conferencing systems, however, are affordable, simple to use and proven to deliver sparkling, almost life-like quality connections.

But lest you think we’re going a little bit overboard with our enthusiasm, let’s allay some common questions and concerns many of the hi-def video conferencing system’s potential customers sometimes have in advance. Here are three areas historically troublesome to videoconferencing that VU TelePresence simply masters.

The Need For Surplus Equipment

It’s unlikely that you’ll need to buy a bunch of high-tech equipment – and you don’t need to buy equipment specifically designed for VU TelePresence systems.

Instead, VU TelePresence systems are sold without displays. All you need is an HDMI TV or an HDMI monitor (assuming, of course, that you have access to adequate bandwidth — 800 kbps for 720p and 1.2Mbps for 1080p. A 50-inch HDMI display is optimal) The systems still can work with bandwidths as low as 350 kbps, but only at standard-definition quality.

In fact, the systems product arrive out of the box pre-configured and ready to go. Just set it up on your network and choose a Vu Number.

The Need For Special Lighting

There’s no need to stage your meetings from the local movie studio. The room needs to be well-lit – and uniformly lit for best picture – but no fancy, high-tech lighting is needed for optimal picture quality.

However, certain color clothes don’t show up well in any type of video (read here to learn more).

The Inability to Connect With Other VC Units

VU’s systems can connect with a wide variety of video conferencing systems. In fact, that’s also the great part of interoperability. It simply wouldn’t be feasible if different units from different vendors couldn’t connect – if every business or school or organization, everywhere needed a VU TelePresence system in order to communicate with each other (in high-def, no less).

VU TelePresence masters interoperability. Additional equipment is almost never needed.

Trompeter Emerson high-temp twinaxial cablesDurable, high-performance cabling is the lifeblood of any connectivity system. And even the most reliable A/V distribution device or electronic component will fail to meet expectations if it’s connected with substandard cables. So we’re proud to sell a wide variety of bulk cable that meets our stringent quality standards.

For example, take a look at our new Trompeter/Emerson 78-ohm high-temp twinaxial cables with PFA jackets for MIL-STD-1553B applications

The premium, heavy-duty cable is constructed out of PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) outer jacket material and FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) insulation material, which, when combined, allow the cable to function at a high level even in both extraordinarily cool temperatures and extreme heat. More specifically, the cables can withstand temps ranging from 55-degrees Celsius below zero (negative 67-degrees Fahrenheit) to as much as 200-degrees Celsius (392-degres Fahrenheit).

The ability to perform flawlessly at such an extreme range of temperatures is important for high-performance, mission-critical applications involved with military avionics and commercial aviation. And, in this way, this twinax cable is similar to other high-temp cables we can provide, including twinax cables with Teflon jackets.

All types of bulk cable we sell are sold by the foot, but you will not find any cutting charges on your bill. Currently, this cable is available for just $3.50 per foot. To see a full list of applications compatible with this cable, just look at any product ending in “206” via our search bar.

(As a general reminder, you can keep an eye out for our latest products in the new products section of our website. Other recent connectivity solutions that we’ve added to our catalogs include coax extender sets, hi-def video conferencing systems, and twinax cable plugs.)

We’ve been pretty enthusiastic here on the MilesTek blog about just how much we love the fantastic new VU Telepresence HD video conferencing systems we sell. They make critical business communications easier, more effective and more affordable.

And, amazingly enough, they just got even better.

Our complete line of VU Telepresence High-Def Video conferencing devices are now interoperable with Vidtel video conferencing services.

The advantage of Vidtel’s service is that it allows you to connect (in high-def) with customers, clients, coworkers or colleagues – even if they are not using the same HD video conferencing equipment. There’s no tedious process of setting up a connection. You just enter in the address and go.

Basically, Vidtel has been one of the industry’s true pioneers of cloud-based B2B video conferencing services (note: services, not equipment). Most notably, the company built an SIP-based network that enables interoperability between SIP and H.323 that allows companies and other organizations to blend enterprise-grade video conferencing with other consumer video application (including, most handily, tablets and smartphones). This technology allows equipment manufacturers to expand the scope of endpoints interoperating within their own network.

In other words, they take cutting-edge connectivity equipment and make it even better. Here’s how it works:

Using a VU Telepresence HD video conference system over a high-speed Internet connection, you basically just dial into a video conferencing room, where you meet with the people you’re trying to reach. Or, if the other participants in your call are non-Vidtel users, they can simply dial your address or meet you in a Vidtel room. There’s no need to log into a portal first.

From there, you’ll be face-to-face and ready to do the business you came to do (without needing to jump on an airplane first).

As we mentioned a few months ago, the VU TelePresence high-definition video conferencing systems feature some truly amazing technology — and technology that can improve both life and business in several ways.

Simply put, the video conferencing system delivers jaw-dropping video quality, crystal-clear audio quality, and an unmatched feeling that the people you’re meeting with — whether they’re in New York, New Delhi or Newfoundland — are engaged and engrossed just a few feet away on the other side of your boardroom conference table.

VU TelePresence Video Conferencing Benefits

Easier direct communication. Less misunderstanding. Deeper relationships. Fewer frustrating interruptions. More people at meetings and more hands on deck. Better and more abundant opportunities to talk, to negotiate, to explore big ideas, to hammer out the nitty-gritty details that make projects thrive. It can even make it easier to connect with old friends and family members — all without the need to plop down thousands upon thousands of dollars on plane tickets or enormously expensive equipment.

Thanks to cutting-edge technology at a fraction of the steep costs standard to this sophisticated of an experience, VU TelePresence makes it happen.

VU TelePresence Video Conferencing Features

VU TelePresence is available as both a 720p video conferencing system and a 1080p video conferencing system. The key to both systems are the 720p and 1080p camera support, the multipoint capability, H.264 High Profile, and their unparalleled mobile ability and easy setup and use.

VU TelePresence Video Conferencing Pricing

Now, we’re proud to announce that we’ve made the system more affordable than ever. Currently, the 720p HD video conferencing system is available for just $1,999. The 1080p HD video conferencing system, meanwhile, is available for just $3,499.

By comparison, most similar systems from VU TelePresence’s competitors run from between $12,000 and $44,000 — with fewer features and capabilities. In other words, there really is no comparison.

Three-dimensional television is a true marvel of modern audio/visual technology.

In a convention booth sales setting, a 3D TV can reach out and connect with potential customers and clients – and give your product or service a critical edge over the competition in the next booth over. In school settings or training seminars, a 3D TV can make the course material being taught come alive in an unprecedented way, engaging with students or employees and instilling in-depth understanding of complicated subjects and concepts.

And, of course, a 3D TV can give an entertainment center in your home unlike any you’ve ever seen, breathing life into parties and gatherings and fascinating your family and friends.

But as with more common high-def AV technologies, a 3D television is only as useful as the cable setup and A/V distribution devices that connect it. So here at MilesTek, we’re proud to offer a string of innovative 3D-compatible HDMI splitter/receiver sets and HDMI extender sets that make connectivity easy and give you enormous flexibility to meet your specific A/V needs.

Such devices include:

Each device features a high-speed chip set that supports both 3D and 4Kx2K resolutions. Furthermore, each device employs innovative use of CAT5E and CAT6 cables, which allow you to run 1080p signal over vast distances at a fraction of the price of attempting to do the same solely with HDMI (without undermining the sparkling quality of the signals). The splitters and receivers also make it easy to run one source to multiple 3D displays.

Here’s a nifty deal to greet the spring:

Our goal here at MilesTek is to get clients the exact part they need – as soon as they need it. And a big part of meeting this goal is the vast inventories we maintain for just about everything we carry, including A/V distribution products, data bus couplers, and Trompeter connectivity solutions.

But from time to time we need to clear out these inventories, and we always want to do so in a way that makes our electronic components and connectivity solutions more affordable for our valuable customers than ever.

For example, take a second to look at our ongoing CAT5E/CAT6 patch cord sale. Currently, we’ve slashed prices on several of our patch cords, including CAT5E 350 MHz booted patch cords, CAT5E 350 MHz non-booted patch cords, and CAT6 550 MHz patch cords. The cords are also available in a vast range of sizes and colors.

CAT5E/CAT6 Patch Cord Blow Out

The longer cords – including 20-foot, 50-foot, 75-foot, and 100-foot lengths – can reap extra savings when paired with one of our amazing CAT5E/CAT6 HDMI extenders. Basically, extending a sparkling-quality HDMI signal 75 feet with an actual HDMI cable would generally cost you between $70 and $170. By comparison, using a top-quality 75-foot CAT5E Ethernet cord would currently cost you just $8.42. Similarly, the cost of a high-speed 100-foot HDMI cable generally runs around $180, while a 100-foot CAT5E Ethernet cord currently costs only $9.59.

Simply put, huge savings are there for the taking (not to mention the myriad other benefits that come with our HDMI extenders).

The deal will only be available until supplies run out, so order soon if we’ve got anything you need. Questions about which patch cord will meet your unique needs? Contact us – one of our audio-video distribution specialists will be happy to help.

We’re confident that we sell among the best connectivity solutions anywhere in the military avionics and telemetry industries, including our diverse lines of custom harnesses and accessories, connectors and data bus couplers. But there’s nothing like a little bit of validation from one of the most demanding, high-performance companies on the planet and true pioneers of the commercial aerospace field.

Boeing Performance Excellence AwardSo here at MilesTek, we’re thrilled to announce — for the second time in four years – that we’ve been honored by the Boeing Corporation as a recipient of the 2011 Boeing Performance Excellence Award.

The honor goes out each year to company suppliers who best maintain “superior supplier performance” throughout the previous year. From Oct. 1, 2010 to Sept. 30, 2011, we earned a “silver composite performance rating” for month after month through the entire performance period. The honor makes us eligible for Boeing’s “Supplier of the Year.”

According to the company:

Performance excellence is fundamental to the success of both our companies. Boeing extends its sincere congratulations to the employees of your company for demonstrating their dedication to the high performance standards necessary to meet customer expectations and remain competitive in the global economy.

This is the third time to receive the honor. We last earned the award in 2009 for the custom wiring harnesses, connectors and cable assemblies we supplied to Boeing.

The high-demand, mission-critical nature of avionics requires cutting-edge connectivity solutions that are tough, reliable and innovative. We’re proud to offer industry-leading companies like Boeing a full range of such connectivity solutions, including MIL-STD-1553B devices and supporting equipment, Trompeter cables and connectors, and a deep catalog of cable assemblies.

We talk a lot about our AV over CAT5E/CAT6 solutions – especially our HDMI CAT5E/CAT6 extenders and VGA CAT5E/CAT6 extenders – here on the MilesTek blog. For good reasons.

Simply put, the extenders are a dream come true for anyone in need of better, more cost-effective, more flexible AV setups. Utilizing high-quality, low-cost CAT5E/CAT6 cables gives you options: They can run farther. With the right extender or splitter, they can easily be split out from one source to multiple displays. And the cables makes for a much more affordable option than you’d find trying to, say, run an HDMI cable several hundred feet.

We love them. We’re proud to offer them. We want our customers to see first hand just how much the kits can simplify their AV needs. So, from now through March 31, we’re selling them at even lower prices.

HDMI OVER LAN/ETHERNET IR EXTENDER KITFor example, our HDMI over LAN/Ethernet IR extender kits make it easy to split out a single HDMI signal (such as a Blu-Ray disc player) to multiple HDMI displays such as high-def TVs over a single CAT5E/CAT6 cable. The kit even includes an IR control signal for a smoother A/V experience.

We’re selling the kits for just $376.67.

VGA 3.5mm AUDIO CAT5E/CAT6 1x4 SPLITTER AND 2-PORT EXPANDABLE RECEIVER KITOr, for another example, take a look at one of our VGA 3.5mm audio CAT5E/CAT6 1×4 active splitter and 2-port expandable receiver kits. Similar to the HDMI extender kits, these VGA extender kits smartly distribute VGA and audio input from a computer to a local VGA display – plus as many as four remote receivers located up to 1,000 feet away. Imagine the possibilities.

We’re selling these kits for just $195.

Again – the offer ends March 31, so order soon. Contact us to learn more, or head over to our main website to explore our comprehensive online catalogs of audio-video distribution solutions.

Dazzling video quality. Crystal-clear audio. Connections with clients, friends and family a thousand miles away that makes you feel like they’re sitting just across the conference table. All this — and more — at an accessible cost you simply won’t find in many other places across the industry.

You can probably tell that we’re more than a little bit excited to introduce our new high-def, ultra-cool, super-affordable HDMI video conferencing systems from VU Telepresence.

Historically, conducting important meetings via video conference was prohibitively expensive for many small businesses and organizations. Doing so would require a significant investment in equipment. Instead, companies were stuck footing steep travel bills when needing to meet face-to-ucj1YDReYE0face for interviews, reviews, sales pitches and other meetings — or they were stuck “making do” with the lesser quality, less-personalized experience of a teleconference.

VU Telepresence offers an intelligent, affordable alternative for businesses in need of direct, visual person-to-person communication. No airplanes or long drives. No overwhelming equipment costs. Just simple, high-def connections at bargain prices. (Don’t believe you’d be getting a steal? Check out this video conferencing technology comparison checklist to see how VU Telepresence systems stack up against systems from Cisco/Tanberg, Polycorn, LifeSize and Radvision.)

MilesTek’s VU Telepresence systems are available in two options — the 720p video conferencing system and the 1080p video conferencing system – and each come loaded with a wide range of features, including:

  • Media control unit/codec
  • Multipoint capability
  • Dual-display videoconferencing
  • WebVU (PC-based video conferencing)
  • Screen and document-sharing
  • Speaker bar
  • Keyboard
  • HD camera
  • Microphone
  • Camera remote
  • Required cabling
  • And more..

The systems are AV-cart compatible, and set-up is simple. The systems are also compatible with third-party systems, ensuring easy video collaboration with customers, clients, and colleagues across the country (and beyond) – regardless of which videoconferencing systems they use.

In other words, the systems are the type of products that simply make it easier for your business to do what it does best. We’re thrilled to be adding it to our complete line of A/V distribution solutions — feel free to contact us with any questions.
