The DVI over Single Cat5E/6 Passive Balun set will allow signal distribution using ONLY ONE inexpensive Cat5/6 cable, as does the DVI over Single Cat5E/6 Active Balun. The Passive Balun set will extend the transmission distance up to 100ft @ 1024×768 XGA or 50ft @ 1600×1200 UXGA while the Active balun will extend the transmission distance up to 200ft @1024×768 XGA or 100ft @ 1600×1200 UXGA. Both are DVI 1.1 compliant, and while the Active Balun requires one AC/DC 5V 2A adapter (included for active box), the passive Balun does not require an external power source.
